Our First Practice with the DummyDoll

April 15,2015

Hajimimashite Minna-san!

Today we had our extra practice with our senpais. They are really generous and patient in teaching us various things in Kendo. We practiced foot works and also striking. We used the dummy to practice the striking. It is really tiring but I must say that I'm really starting to get it more clearly than before. I am not really saying that practice makes you perfect but at least it will make you even more familiar with it. I hope that by the next time we meet Sensei that he would recognize us more. It would be a really great achievement to be praised because you work hard for something than to do nothing at all. I am also expecting that we could buy the Gi set (our uniform for Kendo) this  month. We are having our meetings for the stuff. Then maybe after a few months I would be able to save some money for my bogu set. It really cost a fortune. >...<  But well, if you really want it then you'll find a way to get it right? hahaha.

P.S.

Gomene Jayjay for troubling you with this. I am really thankful for your help and patience. Kimi ga totemo daisuki.

Well minna-san arigatou for reading my Kendo Diary. Til next time. Jaa mata ne!

Mini Meeting while on break

I have found a name for my Shinai. He's Sekki, wriiten in Kanji (instead of Setsuki, Tsu is ommited and changed into "k" because it runs into another consonant [lol, I just learned that from our previous Nihon lessons]).

One of my colleague in Kendo. He's new but he's already coping with our lessons. Gambatte!

Kendo with the TV Station Crew

April 11, 2015

Hajimimashite!

Today we have a really intense training. We practiced 200 suburis and only took our break after an hour of training. Also, a local TV Station will feature us in their morning show. Our senpais took  care of most of it. Sensei was strict than usual but I know that he is starting to recognize our improvements because he was really hands-on in teaching us and also he really see to it that we are and in good shape and we do what he taught us the right way. If we get any mistakes then he would demonstrate it to us over and over again until we get what he taught us. They are very generous in teaching us what they also learned. Even the senpais help us cope so that in the near future we can perform with them side by side. Kudos to Sensei and our Senpais!

Hontou ni doumo arigatou gozaimashita!

Well minna-san, gomenasai I don't have any pictures today for my update. We were so busy with our practice that I didn't have time to take pictures.

Til next time minna-san. Jaa ne!

Our Extra Practice Courtesy of Senpais

April 6, 2015

Hajimimashite minna-san!

Today we had our extra practice for the upcoming small group competition. We started later than expected so we did not have that much time to practice. Anyways, our reliable senpais taught us the proper posture while hitting, the proper handling of shinai and the foot works. It is a bit confusing but after a few repetitions and also guidance I think we've got the hang of it. We did 100 Suburi (a Japanese for practice swing, it's the term used for repetitive cutting exercises in Japanese martial arts) it was really tiring but you would eventually forget how tiring it was when you finally see the fruit of your hard work. It is really fun learning new things and also having new friends.

Well minna-san, 'til next time. Jaa ne!

April Fools Day Training Session

April 1, 2015

        Hajimemashite!

We had an extra practice today! But I really though it was all a bluff because when I came to the venue, the only person there are the ones practicing Taekwondo but then a few minutes after I arrived my senpais also arrived and also some of the third batch like me. Today we learned how to strike and we were able to spar (if that's what you call it) with our senpais. Well not really spar but those practices that they held the past few sessions. It was really fun and I thought that I would be having muscle cramps but luckily I don't have any. The senpais are all very generous and patient towards teaching us. It was indeed also a very fun experience. On to the next practice session this coming Monday. I am really really looking forward to it.

Senpais domo arigatou gozaimashita! Otsukaresama deshita!

P.S. Gomen, gomen I don't have any pictures with me for this session. I forgot to take pictures because I was really concentrating on the training practices.

'Til next time minna-san! Jaa ne!~

The Continuation of my ADVENTURE!

March 28,2015

          Hajimimashite!

Today's the continuation of our Kendo lesson. This time, our sensei is around. It's really fun practicing and our senpais are all friendly and they taught us well. Thanks senpais! also domo arigatou gozaimasu sensei! We continued our lessons about the foot works and also proper position of the hands while executing the strikes. My body hurts a lot because of the training but then again I'll say this, IT IS REALLY WORTH IT. We will be having a 2 weeks break because of the Holy week and since I did not have my shinai yet, I borrowed a shinai from the kendo club. Yay! More practices to come.

My First Training Adventure

March 25, 2015

Hajimimashite!

I officially started my Kendo classes. I just received my temporary kendo uniform. We practiced for hours. I did not expect to have done those intense warm-ups from the very first day but I am proud I survived it even when I was still sick. We started with our orientation and then proceeded to the basics of kendo. I must say I thought that it was so easy but now I think that it's more challenging than I thought. Before I have a plan on quitting my classes but this first experience is all worth it and I am really loving this physical activities. I know I will be having muscle cramps later but I don't care because I know it's from my hard work. Kudos to our senpais who are really patient in teaching us. We will be meeting our sensei this Saturday. I hope all goes well. :3

'Til my next Kendo diary update! Jaa ne!
